Three-day capacity-building programme equips Physical Planning Department staff with digital tools for real-time project monitoring, improved accountability and more efficient supervision of basic education projects across Cross River State.

The Cross River State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has commenced a three-day digital project management training for staff of its Physical Planning Department in a move aimed at strengthening project monitoring, enhancing accountability and modernising the supervision of basic education projects across the state.

The training, facilitated by Neptune Apps Limited, introduces participants to a centralised digital platform designed to replace manual project monitoring and reporting processes with a technology-driven system that enables real-time tracking of projects, faster reporting and improved decision-making.

Declaring the training open on behalf of the Executive Chairman of SUBEB, the Director of Administration, Joseph Effiong, said the initiative would improve project supervision by providing a unified platform for tracking field activities, managing project data and enhancing operational efficiency across the board.

Effiong noted that the training is expected to strengthen service delivery, improve monitoring and evaluation, and promote greater transparency and accountability. He encouraged participants to actively engage in the sessions and maximise the opportunity to build their digital project management skills.

Chief Executive Officer of Neptune Apps Limited, Isaac Induka, explained that the platform addresses the delays associated with manual reporting by enabling resident supervisors to upload reports directly from project sites. According to him, the system will provide decision-makers with instant access to project updates, reduce paperwork and improve overall project oversight.

Participants welcomed the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that will improve project monitoring, reporting, payment processes and contractor accountability. They also commended the Cross River State Government and SUBEB leadership for prioritising digital innovation in the education sector.

The training forms part of SUBEB's broader digital transformation agenda aimed at improving efficiency, transparency and accountability in the implementation of basic education projects across Cross River State.
