Ghanaian actress and fashion icon, Nana Akua Addo, has reportedly been hospitalised following an alleged domestic altercation involving her husband, Harold Duodu Norman.
Videos circulating online show the actress receiving medical treatment with a swollen lip, a cut beneath her eye and blood stains on her clothing. However, the circumstances surrounding the injuries were initially unclear.
The allegations have since generated competing accounts from both sides.
Norman has denied assaulting his wife. His lawyers said in a statement that the injury shown in circulating images dates back to a 2021 altercation and resulted from a broken mirror during a confrontation, rather than an assault by their client. They also said the matter is currently being investigated by the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit of the Ghana Police Service.
Nana Akua Addo has also addressed the controversy, saying the matter is under police investigation.
The development has attracted widespread attention in Ghana, with concerns raised over the couple's ongoing domestic dispute and the safety of their children.
