Nigeria’s representative at the 2026 Miss World competition, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, has won the Africa Top Model title, securing an automatic place in the competition’s Top 40 quarterfinals.
Karibi-George clinched the continental title on Thursday during the Top Model competition held as part of the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest XVII, themed “Soul of Heritage.”
She emerged ahead of contestants from Equatorial Guinea, Botswana, Kenya and South Africa to claim the African title.
The Miss World Organisation announced Karibi-George as Africa’s continental winner alongside representatives of the Dominican Republic, France and Vietnam, who won the Top Model titles for the Americas and Caribbean, Europe, and Asia and Oceania respectively.
The four continental winners have automatically qualified for the Top 40, with 10 contestants expected to represent each continental grouping.
The overall winner of the Top Model challenge will subsequently receive a direct ticket to the Top 20. Other contestants will qualify for the Top 40 through fast-track categories including People’s Choice, Beauty With a Purpose, Head-to-Head and Multimedia.
Karibi-George, 26, is a communications professional and founder of Beyond Labels, an initiative focused on inclusion and empowerment for children with special needs.
Her latest achievement adds to her strong performance at the ongoing pageant and boosts Nigeria’s hopes of securing a strong finish at Miss World 2026.
