Lionel Messi has reached 930 career goals after scoring in Inter Miami’s 2-2 draw with San Diego FC in Major League Soccer.
San Diego took the lead in the 12th minute through Anders Dreyer, who chipped Inter Miami goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair after receiving a pass from Jeppe Tverskov.
Messi restored parity 12 minutes later with a superb left-footed free-kick after he was fouled just outside the penalty area. The goal was his 20th in the 2026 MLS season and the 75th free-kick goal of his career.
The strike also marked Messi’s 101st goal for Inter Miami, just four days after he scored his 100th goal for the club in the Campeones Cup.
Inter Miami went ahead in the 74th minute when Luis Suárez found the net, but Dreyer scored his second goal eight minutes later to secure a point for San Diego.
The result extended Inter Miami’s run to four consecutive MLS draws, leaving the club with 46 points from 26 matches.
