The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has promised the completion and delivery of several ongoing road projects in Abuja by December, describing them as a Christmas gift from President Bola Tinubu to residents of the FCT.
Wike gave the assurance while inspecting ongoing construction works on some major roads across the capital.
The projects inspected include the Arterial Road N1 from Wuye to Ring Road II, the Tungan Madaki-Zuba Road, and the Kagini-Kaba road corridor linking the Kubwa Expressway.
The FCT Minister said the completion of the projects would help ease traffic congestion, improve movement and stimulate economic activities in communities connected by the roads.
He acknowledged that the rainy season had affected the pace of construction but expressed optimism that work would progress more rapidly as the rains subside.
Wike also urged the contractors handling the projects to maintain the pace of work and ensure the roads are delivered according to schedule.
The FCT administration has continued to prioritise road infrastructure as part of efforts to improve connectivity and expand development across Abuja.
